Upon graduation from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 1994, Nathan Barber moved to Waco, Texas. After teaching three years in Temple, Texas, Nathan accepted a position at Vanguard College Preparatory School in Waco. During his ten year tenure at Vanguard, Nathan taught courses including Civics, Geography, World History, World War II, Historical Films, AP European History, AP US History and Photography. At Vanguard, Nathan served eight years as Varsity Girls Basketball Coach and spent a year as Social Studies Department Head. As a coach, Nathan led his team to back-to-back State Tournament appearances in 2002 and 2003. From 2003-2007, Nathan Barber served Vanguard as Assistant Headmaster.

In 2006, Nathan completed his Masters Degree in Education from Baylor University and immediately began teaching Social Studies pedagogy in Baylor's Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

After serving one year as Dean of Students at Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas, Nathan accepted the position of Assistant Headmaster over 9-12 (or Assistant Headmaster and Head of the Upper School) at Parkview Baptist School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Nathan fills his extra time with his two passions: his family and photography.

Nathan Barber began his writing career in 2000 when an editor from a major publisher approached him regarding an out-of-date AP European History test-prep manuscript that needed updating. Nathan submitted a proposal, earned the contract and the rest is history.

To date, Nathan has authored 11 educational books, 1 novel of historical fiction and 4 study guides. He has written books for publishers including Arco Books, Thomson Learning, Peterson's, Penguin/Alpha Books and Sparknotes. Additionally, Nathan has written numerous tests for these publishers, tests which have been used online, on CDs and in other manuscripts. Nathan has also done expert review work for publishers including Barron's.
